Design sprints are structured five-day processes for answering critical business questions through design, prototyping, and testing ideas with customers.

Remote Design Sprint

Remote sprints involve much more planning than a typical design sprint as you need to limit the amount of in-person time due to fatigue from video. What I have found that works best is to have a pre-read prior to the sprint as well as an established Miro or Figjam board. Example docs attached below:

Notes on running a Design Sprint

  1. Pre-Sprint
  • Define clear objectives and success metrics
  • Choose the right team and stakeholders
  • Prepare all necessary materials and tools
  • Block calendars and secure a dedicated space
  1. During Sprint
  • Follow the structured timeline
  • Document all decisions and insights
  • Keep energy levels high
  • Stay focused on the target problem
  1. Post-Sprint
  • Compile and share findings
  • Plan next steps and implementation
  • Schedule follow-up meetings
  • Track progress against goals
